Hello all, I am doing a guest post today to answer all of your questions about Brad Gennaro, the Webmaster of the somewhat new poker and gambling website Virtual Felt Online Poker and Casino Games Network. I'm going to take a little time and fill everyone in on this guy.
So Brad is the Webmaster? What does he do for virtualfelt.com?
Everything, plain and simple. There is no staff, there is no computer design programs he works with, etc. He started with a simple, basic Blogger template in November 2008, knowing absolutely nothing about computers, web design, or html. Brad decided that he was basically going to build a website from that template all on his own. What you see now is the result. Brad is the designer, programmer, writer, and "town drunk" of virtualfelt.com! What you see is exactly what Brad wants you too see. Anyway, we'll refer to him as 'geno' from now on, that is the name he prefers.
Why does he prefer the name 'geno'?
He thinks that 'Brad' make him sound like a 'yuppie'. He informs everyone to call him 'geno'. I'm assuming it is short for Gennaro. How old is this guy?
He's old, I think around, uh, we'll call him a washed-up 37.
Where does 'geno' live?
San Diego, California, and he claims he is a really good surfer, but I don't believe him.
How the heck did this guy become the webmaster of Virtual Felt? I mean, what is his story? People want to know his background, you know?!
This cocky webmaster guy, Brad Gennaro, graduated from St. Augustine High School in San Diego, CA, USA, in 1989, where he was a 3 year Letterman at baseball. In 1992, after his junior year at San Diego State University, 'geno' was drafted in the 6th Round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the San Diego Padres as a right-fielder. In 1994, he was named to the National League AA All-Star Team while playing for the Wichita Wranglers of the Texas League. In 1995, after returning to AA for some reason, he injured his shoulder on a collision at home plate just 2 months into the season. It was too bad, because at the time of the injury 'geno' was leading all of the minor leagues is hitting, and was supposedly getting called up to the Major Leagues in 2 days, at least that is the story the guy tells everyone. After not playing baseball due to injury in 1996, 'geno' drifted back into the Padres spring training camp as a new man in 1997, only to be released within a week. Rumor has it 'geno' was a big party guy, and didn't like fans, or something, who knows. For the next 5 years or so 'geno' floated all over the globe playing in Independent Professional Baseball Leagues, even ending up in Colombia, South America, for Winter Ball one year. He had one huge season in 2000 when he hit .367 with 16 Home Runs and 89 RBI for the Chico Heat of the Independent Western Baseball League, but still no MLB teams came calling. Instead of seeing the writing on the wall, 'geno' continued to play baseball until he ripped his Achilles tendon in 2002. That finally put the nail in the coffin for his baseball career, and it looked as if he was coming back to the 'real world' with the rest of us hard-working people!
While laying around for a year being lazy and rehabilitating his sewn-up Achilles tendon, 'geno' started playing poker. This was right around 2003. Hmmm, sounds like a familiar year. Don't let him try to fool you, he was a product of Chris Moneymaker! He will never admit it, but that's just 'geno', he's too cool for everything. Supposedly 'geno' bought the domain name virtualfelt.com sometime in 2006, but just sat on it. Finally in December of 2008 he decided to try and put up some content, realizing that nobody would show up at just a domain name! So Virtual Felt was born, and the same guy that used to talk smack about "Internet goofs" and "computer geeks" was bragging about how he was designing the website, snappin' off a bunch of html code, and sporting an orange shirt that said 'I blog" on the front. All the guy does now is sleep until noon, eat cereal and Jumbo Jacks, drink beer, smoke cigarettes, and play poker on the Virtual Felt in that dungeon he calls a bedroom! Oh yeah, once in awhile he will actually get some motivation and throw up a blog entry, very rarely though. The guy is too much, man.
What are his hobbies or interests?
Well, he likes sleeping, playing poker in a dungeon-like bedroom, drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes, and eating every unhealthy thing he can get his hands on, you know, a really productive guy!
So 'geno' has a big weight problem, huh?
Are you kidding me? The guy is ripped somehow, he is still in better shape than all of us! Maybe he's on steroids.
So, is 'geno' single?
You would think, but somehow this loser has a beautiful girlfriend, and get this, her name is Rum, what an awesome name, perfect for him! This guy is so lucky, when are us good guys gonna' catch a break?
Anyway, so now you know a little about 'geno', the ex-professional athlete, online webmaster, poker playing, alcohol drinking, chain smoking, computer-goof. It would not surprise me if he makes this virtual felt website thing work, everything always seems to go right for this guy!
Thank you for the questions, and oh yeah, you might be wondering who I am, well.....
....first pass me that 40-ounce of King Cobra, then toss me that pack of cigarettes, then fire up the damn computer because we're gonna' pull an all-night'er on the virtual felt y'all! This is geno y'all! Peace!
