Hello all of you (or all one of you), my name is Brad Gennaro, and I would like to personally thank you for not only finding Virtual Felt, but for taking the time to read the first real entry! From now on you can call me by the name my friends use, "geno"... Now for the introduction:

• (insert generic tags here) Virtual Felt is a new website / blog dedicated to the exciting, ever-so-growing industry of online poker.Now I know what you are thinking, "not another website that is going to tell me that a third raise ALWAYS means aces or kings" right? let's get that out of the way right now:

O.K., now that we got that out of the way, you may be wondering to yourself, "what the hell is the Virtual Felt and why should I care what this "geno" guy has to say? Wasn't he a professional baseball player?" Since you asked, yes, I did play professional baseball, but who the hell cares, I'm a poker player now! Anyway, I was drafted in 1992 by the San Diego Padres, and during my first year of baseball .....oh, sorry....some other time. Anyway, the term "virtual felt" is the universal term used to describe the online poker table, the "virtual poker table" if you will. Now that is a very important point considering the life of my blog depends on the term "virtual felt". Pay no attention to the advertising in the AdSense Ads, my websites not about making loincloths out of recycled felt (unless of course that is why you are here, the felt comes in some really nice colors).

Since the birth of online poker with Planet Poker in the late 1990's, skeptics and the United States government have tried to bring the online sites down, but to no avail, the business of online poker is booming! Why? Because poker is truly America's game, a game which can be enjoyed by all walks of life of all ages. Online poker extended the game of poker to our homes, which has made the great game of poker accessible to people who are handicapped, people who do not live near a card room, or those of us who are too damn lazy to get out of the house! With this came those players who began to take the game on the virtual felt to new levels. Players started joining multiple sites, then they started playing multiple tables at one time, then they started playing multiple sites and tables, AT ONE TIME. The end result is that the skill level of the average poker player of today has gone up, WAY UP! Players are learning in a month what it took the great players of the past a lifetime to learn, and it is all at the player's fingertips. Granted, the old saying that time is the best kind of experience still holds true to a certain extent, but there is no denying that today's younger generation of players are damn good at what they do! So as this new "steroid-freak" type of player emerged, of course up popped all the online poker information sites right on schedule:

You name it, it was created. What resulted was an intertwined jungle of junk websites, bootleg-looking blogs, and a virtual mess of information, opinion, and advertising. U-G-L-Y! Well that is about to end my friends. It is time for a new breed to emerge in the online poker website world! It is time for Virtual Felt. Peace.
